February 01 Movie of the City Council of 30/01/2009
City Council lightning, that of 30 January 2009 with a single agenda item and, moreover, approved unanimously.
Began at 21:10 ended in less than twenty minutes. Perhaps the brevity of the board associated with this not really interesting at all has caused the low turnout of spectators streaming in any case there was, as is evident from the chart below
Too bad that none of these six spectators have also participated on the chat.
Soon I hope to publish the video of the board for future reference. Update after a few hours. The movie is published on the site of the town and, given the brevity of the movie in full on YouTube.
Monday, October 20 next City Council Controguerra. This time, an event not to be missed. It will be voted on the resolution to approve the privacy statement that is essentially the first official act of the municipality to provide its territory of a video surveillance system.
Obviously, the appointment is for all, live in the multipurpose room of the municipality and, for those who can not physically controguerra on TV to stream live.
A discussion will outline the new regulation for the management of votive lamps in the cemetery that is passed into the common management and the new regulation for the trade.
There souvenir ever, also the new forum for citizens and non Controguerra.
I managed to make the movie of the municipal council of 29 September 2008. The delay is due to the fact that I started using a new video editor, so I am a beginner.
The video is available here in full or abridged version on YouTube in 10 minutes
Very important in this council, the first few minutes where the undersigned has announced the creation of forums for citizens to Controguerra that everyone, especially the controguerresi are invited to join. Within the first few minutes, the Mayor introduces the issue of the request to place on our municipal area of antennas for mobile communications and 3G services from the operator Vodafone. If you are interested in how that matter, listen to the movie and the forum's discuss
September 30 Streaming City Council September 29, 2008
If you look at the number of visitors to the chat, which were, except me and the director, only three could think of a number of live TV viewers really low instead of streaming access statistics say one more thing and say that even if we have not included the numbers of the second board, we have a little 'back on its feet than the last. Graph fact
still shows a peak of nine people connected and an average of six to seven. What can I say, that surely were more people to watch online and those not physically present in the board room, without considering the two envoys of Vodafone who have left the room after the part that interested them directly.
As for the second half, I must say that in the shape of the new board room, two cameras leave something 'to be desired in terms of coverage and a third would be ideal to cover, each one of the arms of the U of the table recommended . We will see what can be done in the future.
What to say about the failure to join the chat? Sounds like a good idea, even according to those who participate, but then I do not understand why watching live was three times more people in chat. Shame? maybe you do not understand that behind there is the possibility of direct online dialogue with other participants? I'll have to investigate.
September 04 City Council From 01 September 2008 online
Finally I made it to put online the city council the other day.
This time I must admit, it was a real party, especially during encoding because the software I use for the production of movies this time did not want to generate. Mov and after about 3 / 4 hours of rendering crashed.
Just to sum up the two days of labor, we start from the source file. Wmv, because for some strange reason, the software director who also exported. Mov, right on the server is not working and in the town. Mov video generates a whole green. So starting from this, usually I always imported seamlessly into the editing software, added the header and exported. Mov without problems.
This time, after hours of rendering was interrupted almost halfway. Finally, after hours of wasted CPU cycles, disheartened and convinced that the problem is something busted in the file. Wmv export that maddens I decide to convert the original file into something else with some external software.
Eventually, using SUPER and the third attempt, moving into the DV (digital video) with WAV audio output has been generated and uploaded to the server. For the record, the other two attempts, in DV + DV + MP3 AACE felt good but after having generated again. Mov I realized that the audio track was not recognized and thus preserved.
So when someone asks me why the computer does it take so long to do something I guess I will take this case for example.
Here is an extract from the council, taken from YouTube
Here, the full version in PAL format.
September 02 Third Municipal Council (somewhat 'muted)
Last night third council of the municipality of Controguerra. A tip a little 'dull'. The Board in fact included only the approval of certain conventions "compulsory" in the sense that either the town or would have approved of the commissioner.
Perhaps because of this reason, the turnout of spectators who listened to the event via the web was much smaller than the last vote, although, during the event, there have been some really nice goodies for the majority and minority
This here below is in fact the graph of the number of visitors during the event
A real shame too because it was introduced last night, a tool that I consider very important in order to strengthen interaction between the people in this way and who is beyond the camera, a chat among the spectators that allows for a dialogue on advice or other topics related to current affairs.
Yesterday evening, for example, in six of the spectators of the event, there was a big interest of chat to get information about a facility that Vodafone wants to implant the sull'acquedotto Ruzzo, at the center of our common .
During the chat, I tried to explain what the town was doing to fight on this installation and I reported this to the mayor who will add this in the next City Council scheduled for 29 September.
Another interesting point emerged during the chat was to a greater interaction with and councilors, even through the integration of a forum within the site of the municipality. I'll see, as soon as possible, how and if it is feasible.
I hope by tomorrow to upload the recorded event last night.
Below, a photo of the director's table and the fantastic director who coordinated the recording of yesterday evening.
Monday, 01 September 2008, new city council and its live internet directly from the homepage of the town.
This time I will also add to the direct opportunity for the audience, to communicate via chat, of course, for now, without any obligation and without any control.
Hopefully then we'll see how it behaves "the public" and will evaluate whether to put restrictions like registration, access to chat only to residents of the town and so on.
For now let's see if I can bring to also bear this additional experiment.
Once again, in record time, after nearly 15 hours of rendering by the video conversion program, I managed to put online registration Controguerra City Council on June 11, 2008.
Among the topics:
- approved budget exercise,
- City Council amending Regulation
- institution conference of leaders
The video is available from the site of the town of Controguerra and need Apple QuickTime.
Last night the second streaming City Council. An audio setup really satisfactory, while that video leave a little 'something to be desired because the cameras are not yet final and in fact the first fifteen minutes of shooting with one of two cameras provisional disappointed because the camera continually lost the fire Because little light in the room.
It will be for the next time with the cameras "right" with the new council chamber well lighted and, hopefully, the undersigned is no longer forced to assemble and disassemble everything before and after night till two in the
Good turnout of the public "virtual", an increase over the previous trial. The chart below
in fact, reveals the smooth running of the event with a peak of 16 spectators, an average of 12 and a good presence for the duration of the event sign of interest in this innovative initiative.
Of note the excellent direction of our dear Ninetto undisputed master of the mixer and software direction.
By beginning of next week I should be able to put online a complete record of the city council last night.
Good result for the first experiment of live broadcasting, the Internet, the first municipal council of the new administration of Controguerra.
A good result, first because everything went incredibly well and the movie was directed fluid and has never stopped its audio and video were "pods" throughout the event. Sure, the audio is to be improved, but only in relation to the way it is recorded. This time, in fact, with the courtroom packed with children in elementary and middle and with the recovery effected by the mere sound of my poor camera microphone, you could not just ask for more.
A good result, because it still seems to me that the participation, taking into account the experimental value, taking into account the little publicity given to the service, having had 5 / 6 with a peak audience of 9, it seems a satisfactory result.
The chart below shows, in detail, the number of spectators who attended the event via the Internet, during the event.
A good result because despite my constant state of "overload", although the festivities of May Day, over two days I managed to put it online on YouTube 10 minutes of the event and the full version full screen on the site of the town .
For the version on YouTube is of course the Adobe Flash. For the full Council's website, you need the QuickTime player.
